HPI, parent company of Yard Guard, began manufacturing in the 1800's making covers for various types of products. The first products produced were for covered wagons and other vehicles. In recent times they developed a woven and extrusion coated polyethylene material, which is still used today on their safety covers. This material has tremendous strength, reduced weight, and is used worldwide for a number of other products.
